Prabin Kumar Rawat is a film producer and director based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He began his career as a production manager and line producer, working on feature films, television commercials, documentaries, and music videos while still completing his undergraduate film studies in Nepal.

He is the co-founder of Cryptid Films, a production company behind some of the most acclaimed Nepali short films of the past decade. Prabin specializes in developing and producing narratives that uncover hidden, suppressed, and often untold stories from the margins of society—with a strong focus on environmental challenges, identity, and sustainability.

In 2017, he produced the international co-production A Year by Jisun Jamie Lee, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. His 2018 production Jaalgedi - A Curious Girl premiered at the Busan International Film Festival and later won Best Short Film at the Berlinale (K-Plus Generation). In 2019, Black Goat by Tang Yi premiered at the Austin Film Festival, won the St. Louis International Film Festival, and qualified for the Oscar. Later, in 2021, she won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival with her next short, All the Crows in the World. His directorial debut KALAM (2019) and his produced film Yet Another Winter (2021) were both screened at the Busan International Film Festival under the Asian Wide Angle competition section.

In 2022, his production Wheels on the Bus was selected for the Berlin International Film Festival, and his work as line producer on Lori – Melancholy of My Mother's Lullabies marked a historic milestone as the first-ever Nepali film selected for the Competition section at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a Special Mention Award.

He developed Messenger of the God, a feature fiction film by Nigam Bhandari, through the Busan Asian Film School (AFiS 2023) program in South Korea. He is currently engaged in producing and distributing a range of short and feature-length films, spanning various stages of development, production, post-production, and release.
